Meet Dr. Brouwer

An Orange County native dedicated to the health and
wellness of our community.

Dr. Brouwer was born and raised in Anaheim, California. His primary and secondary school education was through the Valley Christian school system in Cerritos, then he attended U.C. Irvine for biological sciences and pre-med studies.  Prior to attending George Washington University School of Medicine, he was commissioned as an officer into the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, having received a full medical school scholarship from the Air Force.  He remained involved in the USAF reserves throughout medical school and residency, then entered active duty with the Air Force in 1994 as a medical officer and internist at Eglin U.S. Air Force Base Hospital in the Florida panhandle, departing as a Major in 1998.

Upon returning to Orange County, he entered internal medicine private practice with the prestigious Newport Beach Medical Associates.  Dr. Brouwer has been on the active medical staff at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach since 1998 and has participated on several hospital committees. He and his wife live in Laguna Beach.  Their oldest son is currently working in finance in Orange County and their younger son is attending Tulane Law School. Dr. Brouwer spends his leisure time as a mountain biker and photographer.  Since his youth, he has been a loyal fan of the Dodgers and Lakers.

Prior to attending George Washington University School of Medicine, he was commissioned as an officer into the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps. His internship and residency training in internal medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center were pivotal years in the development of becoming a physician. He remained involved in the USAF reserves throughout medical school and residency, then entered active duty with the Air Force in 1994 as a medical officer and internist at Eglin U.S. Air Force Base Hospital in the Florida panhandle, departing as a Major in 1998.

With her friendly smile and thoughtful care, Brianna makes our patients feel welcome and at ease. As a medical assistant, she is a crucial connection for patients as she is the first one in the office to provide medical care, whether it is obtaining vital signs, dressing wounds, administering vaccines, or drawing blood samples for laboratory testing.
